’Somedays I wonder if comments like yours make her feel good, or if she hears it so often that it's just noise at this point. Like when a rockstar goes out, all they hear is "oh my god! I'm your biggest fan!!!" And at first I'm sure it great, to know that your art form provides joy to so many, but after a while, they're hearing it on a daily basis, that it loses all meaning. It's just that thing that people say when they see them. So then they get more joy out of making the art, then the reactions from it. I wonder if scnoodle goes through that. Post her poems, and finds joy in that, but the rest is more of the same.’

’I had a cat named Jeff. One time the family left our house in an old 70s oldsmobile and about 3 mins later we hear a loud MEOW and my dad exaimed, Jeff is in the trunk! ’I had a kitty that would do the same for me when I was growing up. She would usually be waiting for me in the afternoon too...’
there's things that we remember back when we were growing up,
a family pet we may've had - a little cat or pup
their lives they always seemed too short, but all the time we shared
we remember them forever,
cuz we knew how much they cared...
the times we got in trouble for the silly things we did,
when mom or dad was mad at us, we sometimes ran n hid...
but always there - your loving pet! they came to save the day
in Their eyes you were never wrong - they loved you anyway...

’> With everything going on, those things that brighten someone’s day are all the more important. I couldn't agree more. Especially when it's something we can experience together. This is an example of what I call "pandemic comraderie" - those little moments where we are able to connect with people, even strangers on the internet, and experience a tiny break from the fear and pain of what's going on out there. It's this comforting feeling like "hey we're all in this together" - and it can come from the simplest little things but still make such a huge impact. I'm severely depressed right now. I've struggled with mental health for most of my life, so it's no surprise that this fucked up world and quarantine and all that stuff is sending me into another depressive episode. Last night my SO and I talked about it - he's feeling the same way - and it felt good to acknowledge the elephant in the room. Now we're working together to take care of ourselves and each other. It's fucking hard, but it felt like such a relief to wake up this morning and talk to him about how we're doing. Shit, even just being able to admit the problem to myself - "yes, I feel like hell, I don't want to out of bed and work from home, and it's because I'm super depressed" - felt like a relief. To anyone else out there having a hard time: you're not alone. Find someone to talk to, whether it's a friend, family, therapist, or even an internet stranger (like me! DM's are welcome). And find the strength to admit to yourself that you're struggling, but know that it's okay to feel that way. To /u/SchnoodleDoodleDo: thank you for sharing your gift with the world. I feel that heart-warming "pandemic comraderie" this morning and owe it to you for bringing a bunch of strangers together over a poem ❤️’

’He was born the same day when plane with our president (i’m polish) crashed with other 95 people... I remember everyone was in front of TV listening about this horrible news and crying, and suddenly my fiance called me and said that his mom’s cat gave birth and one of the kittens looks like a cow, so here I am, 10 years later, living in Sweden, not anymore with that guy and this is what grew up from that small cow! So much have changed during this 10 years!’
Remember when you got me, mom ? your day was kind of sad

’I had a dog phobia. Then an old dog came and laid on my lawn to die. The. Neighbors wouldn't take her because they had cats. No shelter would take her because she was old. I couldn't let her die. So we took her to the vet, got her fixed up and kept her. We gave her 2 good years before she died. She was perfect for me because she was old and sweet and never barked or jumped. I love dogs now.’
